Online Therapy in Rome, Georgia
New to therapy? Rome adults, couples and teens can meet a Georgia-licensed therapist online, with insurance verified before the first session.
Therapy for Rome
Therapy isn't only for people in crisis, and it doesn't mean lying on a couch talking about your childhood for years. In practice, it's often a practical, collaborative conversation with a trained professional about what's getting in the way and what you'd like to change. If you're in Rome and curious, that's a good place to start.
Rome is in Floyd County, and MentalSpace Therapy serves Floyd County and all of Georgia over secure video. Our therapists are licensed in Georgia, and a care coordinator calls you within 24 to 72 hours of your intake form to answer questions.
Who we help
Is this a fit for you?
We work with adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, stress and relationship problems; couples; and teens ages 13 to 17. If therapy with us turns out not to be the right fit, for example because you need in-person care or a specialty we don't offer, we'll tell you and help you find the right place.
You might be dealing with
- Low mood, low energy or losing interest in things you used to enjoy
- Conflict or distance in a relationship
- Painful experiences that still affect you today
- Parenting stress and tension at home
Therapy services
Help with what you're carrying
Some people reach out about one specific problem, like panic attacks or a recent loss. Others can only say that something feels off. Both are good reasons to talk to a therapist. Individual sessions are confidential, about 50 minutes long, and built around goals you agree on together.
Couples therapy is for partners who keep circling the same fight, feel more like roommates than partners, or are working through a breach of trust. Both partners attend the same session for one fee, with no double billing, and both need to be in Georgia when you meet.
Insurance and cost
Using your insurance in Floyd County
Tell us your plan on the intake form. We check your coverage and tell you your actual per-session cost before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprise bills. For many plans, that cost is as low as $0 per session.
Accepted plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, Humana, select Medicare Advantage plans, and the Georgia Medicaid plans Amerigroup, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan. If we're not in-network with your specific plan, we'll help you look at out-of-network reimbursement or private pay.

Ages 13–17
Teen therapy in Rome
Ages 13–17
Therapists who specialize in adolescents
Parents stay involved
Consent, safety updates and family sessions
Around the school day
Weekdays until 7pm ET and weekends
If you're a Rome parent, you may have noticed changes before your teen said a word: slipping grades, skipped meals, more time behind a closed door. Teen therapy gives 13- to 17-year-olds a confidential place to talk with a therapist who specializes in adolescents, not an adult therapist who occasionally sees kids.
You stay involved in the ways that matter. You fill out the intake and sign consent, you hear right away if there is a safety concern, and you join periodic family sessions. Your teen is told on day one what stays private and what doesn't, which is what makes the room safe enough for honest work.
Because sessions are online, there's no pickup line and no drive after school. Look for a weekday time after classes end, before 7pm ET, or a Saturday between 10am and 3pm ET, or a Sunday by arrangement.

How online therapy works
Getting the most out of video sessions
Online sessions work best when you treat them like an appointment: find a private spot, silence notifications, and give yourself a few minutes before and after. Your therapist can see you, hear you and work through exercises with you in real time.
Since you're not driving anywhere in Floyd County, it's easier to keep a steady weekly rhythm. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm ET, and Saturday, 10am to 3pm ET, with Sunday sessions by arrangement. Wherever you join from, you need to be in Georgia during the session.

Coaching
When coaching fits better than therapy
If your life is mostly working and you want help with a specific goal, coaching may be a better fit than therapy. Rome clients can work with a life coach on career pivots, accountability or a major transition, or with a relationship coach on communication and navigating differences.
Coaching sessions are online, like therapy, and both partners attend relationship coaching together at no extra cost. Insurance doesn't apply to coaching, and we confirm the per-session rate before you start. If your relationship is in crisis, couples therapy is usually the better call.

Rome FAQ
Questions people ask before starting
How quickly can I start?
The intake form takes about two minutes. A care coordinator calls within 24 to 72 hours, and the first session is usually within about a week, depending on therapist availability. No card is collected online and nothing is charged before your first session.
Do you have an office in Rome?
There's no physical office in Rome. Sessions are held by secure video with Georgia-licensed therapists, so you can meet from home, a private office, or anywhere in the state with a closed door and a good connection.
What should I do in a crisis?
MentalSpace Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. Both are available 24 hours a day.
Do you accept Medicare?
We don't currently accept traditional Medicare. We do accept some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana, and we'll verify yours during intake. If neither applies, private pay is available at a per-session rate confirmed before your first session.
Does insurance cover life or relationship coaching?
No. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't apply. Rates depend on the coach's credential and are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you need is clinical, such as treatment for anxiety or depression, therapy can be billed to insurance.
