Online Therapy in Duluth, Georgia

Couples therapy, individual therapy and teen therapy for Duluth, delivered by Georgia-licensed clinicians over secure video.

Therapy for Duluth

Relationships take work, and sometimes the work stalls. If you and your partner in Duluth keep having the same argument, or the distance between you has grown quietly over the years, couples therapy can give you a structured place to change the pattern. You can join together from your living room.

We're an online-only practice in Georgia, operated by Coping & Healing Counseling, P.C. Alongside couples work, our therapists offer individual therapy for adults and teen therapy for ages 13 to 17. Duluth is in Gwinnett County, and we serve every part of it by video.

  • Parenting stress and tension at home
  • Low mood, low energy or losing interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Conflict or distance in a relationship
  • Painful experiences that still affect you today

Therapy services

What therapy with us looks like

For most people, therapy starts with individual sessions: a weekly or every-other-week video appointment with one therapist who gets to know your history, your goals and the way you think. Ongoing worry, low mood, relationship strain, work stress and grief are all common reasons to begin.

Couples therapy follows a clear arc. The first two or three sessions cover your history together, what is working and what isn't, and some individual time with each partner. After that, sessions focus on practicing new ways of talking, and they taper to every other week, then monthly, as things shift.

Insurance and cost

Coverage, checked before you start

Insurance can be a maze, so we handle it. Once you submit the intake form, we verify your benefits and tell you what each session will cost. With insurance, that's as low as $0 per session, depending on your plan.

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare and Humana. For Georgia Medicaid, we work with Amerigroup, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan. Some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana are accepted, but traditional Medicare is not. Private pay, HSA and FSA are welcome.

Plans we accept

Teen therapy in Duluth

Ages 13–17

Therapists who specialize in adolescents

Consent, safety updates and family sessions

Around the school day

Weekdays until 7pm ET and weekends

Adolescence is its own stage, and therapy for teens should look different from therapy for adults. Our clinicians adapt approaches like CBT and DBT skills for 13- to 17-year-olds, with concrete examples, more in-session practice and less homework. Teens have a say in the pace.

For parents in Duluth, the process starts with you: you complete the matching form on your teen's behalf and sign consent, and billing stays with you, never the teen. If your teen doesn't want to go, we can start with a short conversation with you or a no-pressure meet-and-greet with the therapist.

Video sessions mean your teen can join from home soon after school. With weekday hours until 7pm ET, Saturday hours from 10am to 3pm ET, and Sunday sessions by arrangement, it's easier to avoid missed classes.

How online therapy works

What you need for an online session

A private room, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection. That's it. Video sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant platform, and your documents live in a secure client portal instead of on a clipboard.

For people in Duluth and the rest of Gwinnett County, telehealth means you schedule around your commute instead of adding another one. Weekday hours run until 7pm ET, and Saturday hours run from 10am to 3pm ET, with Sunday sessions by arrangement. If you travel, you can still meet from anywhere in Georgia, but sessions can't take place while you're out of state.

Coaching

Coaching for goals, not diagnoses

Life coaching and relationship coaching are skills- and decision-focused. A life coach can help you plan a career move or build habits that stick. A relationship coach can help you and a partner talk through decisions without the conversation turning into a fight.

Most of our coaches hold ICF credentials at the ACC, PCC or MCC level. Coaching is private pay, because insurance treats it as non-medical, and the per-session rate depends on the coach's credential.

Duluth FAQ

Questions people ask before starting

Can my partner and I join couples therapy from different places?

Yes, as long as you are both physically in Georgia at the time of the session. That's a licensing requirement. Many couples join from the same room; others join from two locations when work or travel keeps them apart. Both partners are covered under one session.

Do you have an office in Duluth?

There's no physical office in Duluth. Sessions are held by secure video with Georgia-licensed therapists, so you can meet from home, a private office, or anywhere in the state with a closed door and a good connection.

What should I do in a crisis?

MentalSpace Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. Both are available 24 hours a day.

Do you accept Medicare?

We don't currently accept traditional Medicare. We do accept some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana, and we'll verify yours during intake. If neither applies, private pay is available at a per-session rate confirmed before your first session.

Does insurance cover life or relationship coaching?

No. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't apply. Rates depend on the coach's credential and are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you need is clinical, such as treatment for anxiety or depression, therapy can be billed to insurance.
