- Big transitions: a move, a new job, a new baby, an empty house
Therapy services
Support for you, and for your relationship
Individual therapy gives you a confidential place to sort through what has been weighing on you. Our therapists are licensed in Georgia as professional counselors, clinical social workers, or marriage and family therapists, and a person, not an algorithm, matches you based on what you share in the intake form.
Couples therapy is available to partners anywhere in Richmond County and the rest of Georgia. It can help with recurring conflict, distance, trust after a betrayal, premarital questions, or blended-family stress. If the fit with a therapist isn't right, we rematch you without any awkwardness.

Consent, safety updates and family sessions
Around the school day
Weekdays until 7pm ET and weekends
Teen therapy for Augusta families covers ages 13 through 17. Teens come to us with test anxiety, sadness that's affecting sleep or friendships, perfectionism, bullying, family changes like divorce, and questions about who they are. Each teen gets a written safety plan at intake, updated as needed.
Parent involvement is built in without taking over. You start the process, sign consent, and meet with the therapist periodically. With written consent from both you and your teen, we can coordinate with school counselors or IEP and 504 teams so therapy lines up with what's happening at school.
Scheduling around the school day is simpler online. Your teen needs a private room and a device, not a ride, and sessions can be booked on weekday afternoons and early evenings until 7pm ET or on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm ET, with Sunday sessions by arrangement.
Coaching
When coaching fits better than therapy
If your life is mostly working and you want help with a specific goal, coaching may be a better fit than therapy. Augusta clients can work with a life coach on career pivots, accountability or a major transition, or with a relationship coach on communication and navigating differences.
Coaching sessions are online, like therapy, and both partners attend relationship coaching together at no extra cost. Insurance doesn't apply to coaching, and we confirm the per-session rate before you start. If your relationship is in crisis, couples therapy is usually the better call.

How online therapy works
No drive, no waiting room
Telehealth lets you see a therapist without adding travel time to your week. You can join from home, from a private office, or from anywhere in Georgia that gives you a closed door and a good connection.
Our video platform and client portal are HIPAA-compliant, and the free My MentalSpace app keeps appointments in one place. For Augusta clients with full days, the hours that matter most are weekday evenings until 7pm ET and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm ET, with Sunday sessions by arrangement.

Augusta FAQ
Questions people ask before starting
Do you have an office in Augusta?
No. MentalSpace Therapy is an online practice, and every session happens over secure video. Augusta residents meet with a Georgia-licensed therapist from home or another private place in Georgia. Our mailing address is in Alpharetta, but we don't see clients there.
Can I pay without using insurance?
Yes. Private pay is welcome at a simple per-session rate, confirmed before your first session, with no subscription or membership. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and we can provide superbills if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
What should I do in a crisis?
MentalSpace Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call 911. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at 1-800-715-4225. Both are available 24 hours a day.
Do you accept Medicare?
We don't currently accept traditional Medicare. We do accept some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana, and we'll verify yours during intake. If neither applies, private pay is available at a per-session rate confirmed before your first session.
Does insurance cover life or relationship coaching?
No. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't apply. Rates depend on the coach's credential and are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you need is clinical, such as treatment for anxiety or depression, therapy can be billed to insurance.
