Online Therapy in Cumming, Georgia

Couples therapy, relationship coaching, and individual and teen therapy for Cumming, all online with licensed and credentialed professionals.

Therapy for Cumming

Not every relationship that needs help needs the same kind of help. If you're in Cumming and your relationship is in real distress, couples therapy is the right call. If it's mostly working and you want it to be better, relationship coaching is lighter, skills-focused and doesn't involve a diagnosis.

MentalSpace Therapy offers both, along with individual therapy for adults and teen therapy for ages 13 to 17. Cumming is in Forsyth County, and we serve the whole county by secure video. Therapy can be billed to insurance, and coaching is private pay.

Who we help

Who therapy in Cumming is for

Couples therapy helps with recurring conflict, infidelity, emotional distance and blended-family stress. Relationship coaching helps with communication, decision-making and navigating differences. If you're not sure which you need, tell us on the intake form and a care coordinator will talk it through with you.

How online therapy works

Online therapy, explained

If you've never done therapy over video, it's simpler than it sounds. You get a link, you join from a quiet room, and you talk with a licensed therapist who can see and hear you. Some people find it easier to open up from their own space.

Cumming residents can book within our hours: 8am to 7pm ET Monday through Friday, and 10am to 3pm ET on Saturdays, plus Sunday sessions by arrangement. Headphones help with privacy if others are home. Georgia licensing means you need to be in the state for every session.

Therapy services

Therapy for one person, or for two

If what's weighing on you lives mostly inside your own head, such as racing thoughts at night, a heaviness that won't lift, or a loss you haven't been able to talk about, individual therapy in Cumming is the usual starting point. You meet with the same licensed therapist each time, and the work moves at a pace you help set.

If the problem lives between you and a partner, couples therapy may fit better. Our couples clinicians draw on approaches such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, and they don't take sides. Many insurance plans cover couples work as family or relational therapy, and we check yours before you start.

Therapists who specialize in adolescents

Parents stay involved

Consent, safety updates and family sessions

Around the school day

Weekdays until 7pm ET and weekends

We see teens ages 13 to 17 for anxiety, low mood, school stress, family conflict, identity questions, social media pressure and more. Our teen therapists work specifically with adolescents, and sessions are 45 to 50 minutes by secure video, so your teen can log on from their bedroom instead of being driven across Forsyth County.

A parent or legal guardian completes the intake form and signs consent, and we talk briefly with both of you before matching. After that, sessions belong to your teen. Parents don't get session-by-session content, but they do hear about safety concerns and progress milestones, with the teen's knowledge, and family sessions every four to six weeks keep you connected to the goals.

Our hours run until 7pm ET on weekdays and from 10am to 3pm ET on Saturdays, with Sunday sessions by arrangement, so you can look for a time after school or on the weekend instead of pulling your teen out of class.

Insurance and cost

Paying for therapy

If you have insurance, start there. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Georgia Medicaid (Amerigroup, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan) and some Medicare Advantage plans. Depending on your plan, sessions can be as low as $0 per session.

Our team verifies your benefits for free and tells you the number before your first session. No card is collected on this website. If you prefer to keep therapy off your insurance record, private pay is an option, and we can provide superbills if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.

Coaching

When coaching fits better than therapy

If your life is mostly working and you want help with a specific goal, coaching may be a better fit than therapy. Cumming clients can work with a life coach on career pivots, accountability or a major transition, or with a relationship coach on communication and navigating differences.

Coaching sessions are online, like therapy, and both partners attend relationship coaching together at no extra cost. Insurance doesn't apply to coaching, and we confirm the per-session rate before you start. If your relationship is in crisis, couples therapy is usually the better call.

Cumming FAQ

Questions people ask before starting

Does insurance cover life or relationship coaching?

No. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't apply. Rates depend on the coach's credential and are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you need is clinical, such as treatment for anxiety or depression, therapy can be billed to insurance.

Do you have an office in Cumming?

We don't have an office in Cumming, or anywhere else, because all of our therapy is online. That means no drive and no waiting room: you join a secure video session from a private spot in Georgia, and paperwork happens in our client portal.

What if my therapist isn't the right fit?

Tell us. Fit matters, and we'll rematch you with a different therapist without any awkwardness. You can also share preferences on the intake form, such as your therapist's gender or the times you're available, so the first match is as close as possible.

Can I pay without using insurance?

Yes. Private pay is welcome at a simple per-session rate, confirmed before your first session, with no subscription or membership. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and we can provide superbills if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
