Therapy for Brunswick

Some of life's biggest changes come later: retirement, an empty house, a health diagnosis, the loss of a spouse or friend. If you're in Brunswick and adjusting to a new chapter, therapy can help you make sense of it and find your footing.

Brunswick is in Glynn County, and MentalSpace Therapy serves Glynn County and all of Georgia by secure video. We accept some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana, though not traditional Medicare, along with major commercial plans and Georgia Medicaid.

Who we help

You don't need a crisis to start

We work with adults at every stage of life on grief, anxiety, depression and transitions; couples renegotiating roles after big changes; and teens ages 13 to 17. If video calls are new to you, the setup is simple: a link, a device with a camera and a quiet room.

You might be dealing with

  • Conflict or distance in a relationship
  • Painful experiences that still affect you today
  • Parenting stress and tension at home
  • Low mood, low energy or losing interest in things you used to enjoy

Therapy services

What therapy with us looks like

For most people, therapy starts with individual sessions: a weekly or every-other-week video appointment with one therapist who gets to know your history, your goals and the way you think. Ongoing worry, low mood, relationship strain, work stress and grief are all common reasons to begin.

Couples therapy follows a clear arc. The first two or three sessions cover your history together, what is working and what isn't, and some individual time with each partner. After that, sessions focus on practicing new ways of talking, and they taper to every other week, then monthly, as things shift.

Insurance and cost

Coverage, checked before you start

Insurance can be a maze, so we handle it. Once you submit the intake form, we verify your benefits and tell you what each session will cost. With insurance, that's as low as $0 per session, depending on your plan.

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare and Humana. For Georgia Medicaid, we work with Amerigroup, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan. Some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana are accepted, but traditional Medicare is not. Private pay, HSA and FSA are welcome.

Ages 13–17

Teen therapy in Brunswick

Ages 13–17

Therapists who specialize in adolescents

Parents stay involved

Consent, safety updates and family sessions

Around the school day

Weekdays until 7pm ET and weekends

Our teen program is for 13- to 17-year-olds anywhere in Glynn County, including Brunswick. Therapists who specialize in adolescents help with anxiety, depression, school avoidance, social media comparison, identity, and conflict at home, using language that doesn't talk down to teens.

Here is how parents fit in: you fill out the form and sign consent, we speak with you and your teen before pairing them with a therapist, and you join family check-ins every four to six weeks. Siblings can each have their own therapist, which often works better than sharing one.

There's no commute, so a session can start a few minutes after your teen gets home. Weekday times run until 7pm ET, Saturday times from 10am to 3pm ET, and Sunday times by arrangement, depending on the therapist's availability.

How online therapy works

What you need for an online session

A private room, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection. That's it. Video sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant platform, and your documents live in a secure client portal instead of on a clipboard.

For people in Brunswick and the rest of Glynn County, telehealth means you schedule around your commute instead of adding another one. Weekday hours run until 7pm ET, and Saturday hours run from 10am to 3pm ET, with Sunday sessions by arrangement. If you travel, you can still meet from anywhere in Georgia, but sessions can't take place while you're out of state.

Coaching

Life and relationship coaching

Not everything calls for therapy. Life coaching is forward-looking and goal-driven: a career change, a leadership role, a transition you want to handle on purpose. Relationship coaching helps partners, daters and individuals build practical skills like communication and decision-making. Neither requires a diagnosis.

Most of our coaches hold ICF credentials. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't cover it, and rates are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you describe sounds more clinical, we'll tell you and point you to therapy instead.

Getting started

What your first session looks like

From the first form to your first session usually takes about a week. Here is the path.

  1. 1

    Tell us a little

A four-step form that takes about two minutes: who you are, what's bringing you in, how you'd like to pay, and your preferences. You don't enter any payment information online.

  2. 2

    A care coordinator calls

Within 24 to 72 hours, a real person reaches out to confirm details, answer questions and make sure we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll help you find the right place.

  3. 3

    Portal and paperwork

You get access to our secure client portal to sign consent, privacy and intake forms. We verify your benefits and tell you your per-session cost.

  4. 4

    Your first session

Fifty minutes over secure video. Your therapist gets to know you and starts building a plan with you, not a generic protocol.

Brunswick FAQ

Questions people ask before starting

Do you accept Medicare?

We don't currently accept traditional Medicare. We do accept some Medicare Advantage plans through Aetna and Humana, and we'll verify yours during intake. If neither applies, private pay is available at a per-session rate confirmed before your first session.

Do you have an office in Brunswick?

There's no physical office in Brunswick. Sessions are held by secure video with Georgia-licensed therapists, so you can meet from home, a private office, or anywhere in the state with a closed door and a good connection.

Does insurance cover life or relationship coaching?

No. Coaching isn't a medical service, so insurance doesn't apply. Rates depend on the coach's credential and are shared on your welcome call before you commit. If what you need is clinical, such as treatment for anxiety or depression, therapy can be billed to insurance.

Do you take insurance for therapy in Brunswick?

Yes. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, Humana, select Medicare Advantage plans, and Georgia Medicaid through Amerigroup, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan. With insurance, sessions can be as low as $0 per session depending on your plan, and we verify your benefits before your first session.

How quickly can I start?

The intake form takes about two minutes. A care coordinator calls within 24 to 72 hours, and the first session is usually within about a week, depending on therapist availability. No card is collected online and nothing is charged before your first session.
